Serpent review
by Nadav
Intro- I read comics, usually scroll format on the phone on GlobalComix but if I have to then iPad. I try to stick with feminist comics about girls with powers. Yes I'm a feminist what about it.
- Fun5
- Israel4
- Plot
- Fun 5 - Classic to read somewhere that doesn't require a lot of attention, like the toilet or in line at the barber
- Israel 4 - The creator is Israeli but there was no mention of Israel at all. Probably a leftist
- Plot 4 - If I loved The Name of the Wind, I can't say anything bad about this. There are panels that detail certain scenes too much, but it has its upsides. Beautiful characters.
- Finished 3 - Not close to the end but chapters are still coming out
- Art 3 - Smells like Bezalel!!
What I liked
Intrigue and schemes
What I didn't like
The "women are property" thing doesn't add to the plot naturally. You can see the creator realized this at some point too and just does an "Araki" and ignores it. She was probably at the slaves protest or whatever that was and got the idea from there. The problem is it's not trending in the news anymore but too late, we already started. "Shield maidens" is a thing that existed in the real world too and you don't need an Amazon kingdom to justify it. On the other hand it's known that women are empowered specifically when they're appropriated, so I guess I'm not the target audience for this.
Noticed
Literally nothing.
